DCA is pleased to announce the near-completion of a new single-family house here in Carpinteria, California.
Before
Our clients came to us with an original 1960’s Carpinteria beach bungalow. The 856 sq. ft. home was located on a large parcel with lots of potential and little more to be desired. We worked closely with the owners to come up with a plan that was perfect for their recently retired lifestyle. They wanted to modernize the layout with an open floor plan, a more efficient use of space, enough room to have the grandkids stay over, indoor/outdoor entertaining, more light, more character, lots more charm, energy efficient design, and drought tolerant landscaping. These were a few of the items on their wish list and I think we got them everything they wanted and more. Moving to the not-so-sleepy beach town of Carpinteria from Pasadena (bungalow heaven), our clients were very particular and experienced with the craftsman design and detailing that make a great project exceptional.
DCA’s Design
The gray areas in the image below show the areas of addition. With only the existing foundation and subfloor remaining, the DCA design team sketched out a completely new floor plan including a new kitchen, guest room, master suite, and a completely new exterior with craftsman details.
Behind the existing carport, we added a new guest bedroom and a master suite, with the new kitchen bumping out in the front.
